Supplements & Safety

Good reminder to all consumers that the source of your supplements is important! Similar to a prescription drugs, supplementation is best guided by a medical professional with the appropriate knowledge base and one that has in-depth understanding of your labs.

Your blood values help to translate what your system needs; and supplementation should address just that. It is not a “one size fits all” kind-of deal…There is a science to supplementation and its called YOUR body!

At SNC, we encourage you to watch the Frontline segment: Supplements and Safety; followed by a short clip that highlights the rigorous quality control that one of our favorite supplement companies, Designs for Health, uses in the development and manufacturing of our products.

The process that is shown in the DFH clip is what we look for when deciding what supplements we will trust and offer to all of you.

Sure, you can purchase Vitamin D anywhere, but should you? In Feb 2013, JAMA, published an article on “adulterated” label claims with regards to vitamin D3 supplements pulled from retail and compounding pharmacy’s. They found a variance from 9% to 146% when it comes to meeting label claim and although this was just on vitamin D3; it serves as a prime example of the lack of “quality control” in the supplement retail environment.

We all want to make sure we get the most bang for our buck…that should apply to your healthcare too!
