For many children and parents, Halloween can be a worrisome time for their child with allergies. This year there is a solution to this problem! Have you heard about the Teal Pumpkin Project? This project was put together by F.A.R.E (Food Allergy Research and Education) in order to raise awareness about food allergies and promoting inclusion of all trick – or – treaters during Halloween.  By placing a teal pumpkin in front of your house during Halloween, you will allow trick- or- treaters to know you have non- food treats available during the season. By displaying a teal pumpkin in front of your house, you will not only be helping easy the minds of many parents worried about their child’s food allergies but also allowing kids to just be kids and enjoy the spirit of Halloween.

So how do you get involved in this great movement?

Step 1) Provide non- food treats for trick- or – treaters.

Step 2) place a teal pumpkin in front of your home to indicate you have non- food treats available.

Step 3) display a free printable sign or premium poster from FARE to explain the meaning of your teal pumpkin. For   more information visit www.tealpumpkinproject.org
